Introducing Rowena Track, Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stamford

Dear Community Partners, Donors, and Friends,

We are pleased to share with you that the Board of Directors has unanimously appointed Rowena Track as the new CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Stamford. Rowena’s first day on the job is Monday, March 23, 2020.

Ms. Track is a senior-level executive with a proven track record of success and over 30 years of experience across a wide variety of disciplines and industries. She is a self-made businesswoman who immigrated to this country from Beirut, Lebanon, seeking safety, peace and a better way of life.  Ms. Track has worked at several prestigious institutions during her career, including Cigna Corporation, Bayer Healthcare, and Yale University.  In addition, she serves on the Board of Governors of the University of New Haven, and previously served on the board of Child Care Resources in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Rowena said that this role is a dream opportunity for her. “I have been blessed throughout my life and career to have the support of mentors, coaches, family, and community, and this is an amazing opportunity for me to give back and hopefully help not only the next generation of youth succeed, but also ensure that Stamford is seen as a model community and location for growth”

Andrew Zeitlin noted, “As President of the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford, I welcome Rowena to our family of staff, donors, community partners, and most of all, the kids and parents we serve. When you meet Rowena, I know you’ll recognize her passion, expertise, and vision.”

Neil Frieser commented, “As past-Chair of BGCS and Chair of the Search Committee, I couldn’t be happier with the appointment of Rowena to the position of CEO. We are about to move into a tremendous growth stage with the opening of the Gary Wendt Teen Center and we are confident that Rowena will step right in and continue the Club’s great legacy.”

In addition to overall leadership of the organization including strategy, services, programs, finances, talent, brand, resource development, and stakeholder relationships, the CEO serves as the primary ambassador and lead communicator of BGCS.

Rowena, together with her team, will oversee the organization’s continuing growth, which is now approaching 2,000 youth on an annual basis. As you learn about her priorities, strategy, and goals for both the Club and the community, we know you will be as optimistic about the future as we are.

We thank you for your continued support of the Club. Without your generosity, be it time, treasure or talent, we would not be able to support the hundreds of kids who walk through our doors every day.
