The Counselor- In- Training (CIT) program provides positive activities for older youth (ages 14-15) to engage in.
Programming includes youth development curriculum that has been developed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America along with additional programming and activities. Examples of programming include: Team building through the Education Through Adventure challenge course offered through the Youth Services Bureau of the City of Junior Staff Career Development provides the CITs with insight into careers in youth development or human services. The CITs also receive hands on experience by assisting counselors for ½ of the program day. CareerLaunch helps to build job-search and job readiness skills. Money Matters teaches financial responsibility and independence. NFTE (National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship) teaches business basics where the CITs get to develop and present business plans.
Keystone club affords teens the opportunity to demonstrate their leadership abilities by organizing a variety of volunter service projects. Club members attend National Keystone conference with peers from other Clubs.
